Seed traits and post-fire germination in Cistaceae

Project title: Determination of the relationship between seed traits and post-fire germination in Cistaceae family [Cistaceae familyasında tohum karakterleri ile yangın sonrası çimlenme arasındaki ilişkinin belirlenmesi]

Project leader: Çağatay Tavşanoğlu

Project personnel: Emine Burcu Yeşilyurt (Researcher), Gökhan Ergan (MSc student), Sadık Erik (Researcher)

Duration: 2013-2014

Financial support: The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBİTAK)

Study area: Turkey

Methods: Measurements on seed traits such as seed weight, seed coat permeability, seed coat thickness, seed coat structure. Germination experiments including heat shock, mechanical scarification and summer temperature treatments.
