My primary research fields are plant functional traits, grassland ecology, germination ecology, and fire ecology.

My current study focuses on the functional ecology of plants of Anatolian Steppes. For my MSc thesis, I constructed a plant functional trait database for Anatolian steppes based on the Turkish flora book and identified the functional trait structure of this vegetation. Currently, I am working on developing this database with the data obtained from literature research. For the next step, I aim to confirm the traits included in this database by making new measurements and to add new traits into this database.

Before my MSc project, I conducted fire-stimulated germination experiments on Mediterranean plants and cold-stimulated germination experiments on Anatolian Steppe plants.
