My name is Cansu Baran, and I am an MSc student in Hacettepe University, with a strong interest in functional ecology, seed ecology & climate change topics.

During my undergraduate studies, I was actively involved for two years in theFunctional Ecology Laboratory, where I focused on plant functional traits, biodiversity, and seed germination experiments. Through extensive fieldwork and laboratory studies, I gained hands-on experience in ecological research and data collection.

In 2025 summer, I completed an internship at the Institute of Lowland Forestry and Environment, where I worked on leaf anatomical traits, and participated in field sampling and physiological studies.

I am a member of the bulletin editorial team of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology Society in Turkey, where I contribute to the dissemination of scientific research and academic experiences.

I am also proudly vegan and deeply interested in ethical and responsible science. I am motivated to become more actively involved in efforts to reduce unnecessary animal experimentation in Turkey, my goal is to contribute to a more compassionate, interdisciplinary, and environmentally responsible scientific community.
